Lacey Schwimmer

Biography

Lacey was born into a family of championship dancers and grew up in Moreno Valley, California. Her parents are Laurie Kauffman and noted West Coast Swing dancer, Buddy Schwimmer. She is the younger sister of Benji Schwimmer, winner of the second season of So You Think You Can Dance.

Although she began dancing at age 6, it wasn’t until she hit her teens that she realized dancing was her passion. In 2006, Lacey won 1st place at the U.S. National Youth Latin Championships as well as earned the Emerald Ball Youth Latin Championship. In 2007, she was chosen as one of the Top 20 contestants for season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance on FOX and finished as a finalist for the hit TV show. In addition to her notoriety on SYTYCD, Lacey finished at the top of the U.S. Open Swing Dance Championships seven times. One of her greatest accomplishments as a swing dancer may be her 1st place title in the World Swing Dance Championships.

Lacey participated in the seventh season of Dancing with the Stars as a professional dancer paired with Lance Bass of ‘N Sync, in the eighth season of the show paired with Jackass star Steve-O and in the ninth season paired with actor and Iron Chef America host Mark Dacascos. Schwimmer returned to Dancing with the Stars for its eleventh season and she was partnered with Disney Channel star, Kyle Massey and in the 12th season she was paired with radio host Mike Catherwood.

The brunette bombshell has appeared in various entertainment outlets including Christina Aguilera’s pop video “Candyman” as a jitterbugger, a cameo appearance in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody in the episode, “Loosely Ballroom”, and Jon Chu and Adam Sevani’s Biggest Online Dance Battle against M&M. Lacey danced at the MTV Movie Awards 2008 alongside Adam Sandler and was cast to dance in Adam Shankman’s film Bedtime Stories starring Adam Sandler.

Lacey’s passion for dance has organically led her to discover her love for music. Schwimmer recently recorded her first single titled “Love Soundz,” produced by Monsters/Strangerz. Ryan Seacrest first premiered the song on his nationally syndicated morning show “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.” Since its debut “Love Soundz” has received rave reviews, including comparisons to the likes of Britney Spears by OK Magazine. And to add to the list of already great reviews, Good Morning America listed the song in their Heat Index on the day of its release. Lacey’s transition in music is sure to be as smooth as her dancing, as she recently signed with Executive Dream. Currently lace is in the studio recording more songs with The Monsters/Strangers as well as other popular music producers and will be on the road for a national tour later this year.
