THE RISE OF SHOCK OF PLEASURE

Shock of Pleasure is really rising on the radio waves. The Electronica band is getting a lot of recognition, especially on the New York community radio station WBER. Their song "This Is A Test" has been getting more than 500 plays a week, and made it onto the station's 2008 Countdown in the number 22 spot! As for the internet charts, Shock of Pleasure is high up on the Myspace lists as number 2 for Texas down-tempo, number 6 for Texas Electronica and number 21 for Texas pop; they have more than 6000 spins on Last.fm as well. They will reach even more people now that their songs "This Is A Test" and "Spacetime" have been added to the Virgin America Airlines in-flight playlist for 2009. As they continue to increase their fan base, Shock of Pleasure has nowhere to go but up in the coming year.
The Katinas and Friends Cruise + The Movie "THE CROSS"

The Katinas had a wonderful holiday season; they had two weeks to enjoy time together as one big family. They even had a Katinas Christmas party, where each brother was decorated with gift wrap by their kids in the Daddy Christmas Tree contest. Now that it's January and the holidays are over, however, it's back to work! The band has some exciting things coming up. First of all, the Katinas and Friends Cruise will be leaving San Diego on January 19th. The six-day cruise will be stopping in Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada, but the fun won't stop while the ship is at sea! Special guests such as Pastors Debbie and David Katina, Kim Bolton, Chrissy Katina, the Godkinz, Qumi, Eddie Hunt and Nu Era will be performing and leading worship, and it's sure to be a great time! Next, the band's song "Free" will be featured in the upcoming movie "The Cross", which tells the story of the preacher Arthur Blessitt's journey carrying the cross through every nation in the world. The inspiring story is the perfect medium for the band to express their message, and the movie will be released in March of 2009. The Katinas definitely have a lot going on in the coming months!

The Wrecking:Best of 2008

Considering the dismal state of the economy, the year 2008 was certainly not the best for most people. However, for the Wrecking, this past year allowed them to flourish as musical artists and become recognized. The band was honored with mentions on a number of Best of 2008 lists, including the lists of www.christianmusic.about.com, www.blog.beliefnet.com, www.jesusfreakhideout.com, Newbury Comics and Labor Day Music. These lists had wonderful things to say about the Wrecking; www.jesusfreakhideout.com reports that the band "possesses a distinctive sound all their own", and www.blog.beliefnet.com writes that "a lot of times I see acts that are playing music as a career choice, which is fine. And then I meet bands that are playing because, if they didn't, they'd be disobedient to God. That's what I get from The Wrecking, and that attitude comes out in their music." This is only the beginning of the recognition for the Wrecking; 2009 has begun, and it will surely be their year to shine.
The Dirty Heads Tour with Mishka
